Drawing I Professor Periklis Pagratis Summer 2002 A
These
are two of the many plant studies we were required to do for our first home
assignment. They were painted with india ink. We had to use a
smaller watercolor brush to explore the nature of the shape.
The
picture on the left is the second home assignment. In this assignment we
explored different values. The upper left is the original. The lower
left is done using only two different values. The upper right uses three,
and the lower right uses five.
The charcoal drawing on the right is a copy of a master's work.
On the left is a house that's across the street from Wallin Hall. We did it to practice our perspective.
The Picture on the right is one of four still lives that we did in class. Click the different corners of the thumbnail to see all of them. The first one is just line. The second is with no local color. The third is with local color. The fourth was a close up of any part and we used both black and white tools.
The picture on the left is one of three studies we did of our hands. The first one is just the contour lines. The second is contour lines with planar analysis. The third is third is contour lines, planar analysis, and cross-contours.
The picture on the right is my final for Drawing I. It's of the colonial park cemetery. The subject and media were left open. I ink washed the paper gray, then used chalk and charcoal.
